If the dirt persists, repeat the same process in clean water. Important: gold-plated items require more care. Aggressive scrubbing can cause the plating to wear off. It is therefore important that jewellery is cleaned gently to avoid damage. A special silver polishing cloth is an excellent tool to make your jewellery shine, should it tarnish over time. However, this technique will not remove any scratches or dents on the jewellery.
